24th january

I really enjoyed todays lesson at first we decided on technical stuff. for my scene i want a black out then the song ' do me a favour ' by the arctic monkeys to play. Then i am going to have lights turn on as i walk to them, for example a light on my desk will form when i walk to it and lights will go on amanda and danny when i go to them. For sounds i want to have sounds of the street at a certain point in my scene to show the audience that I've gone outside. After we decided on technical stuff we done the first scene and added on this bit where we throw jay up into the air and let him fall to the ground then we run from the side to side running from the bomb. Overall i think todays lesson was a great success overall and i am looking forward to performing it.

friday 10th jan just before lessons

today i want to work on my monologue a bit more, my scene has been changed slightly to include other people so that i am not on stage for 5 or so minutes just talking to myself. Danny and amanda play my parents. Connor plays someone who wants a lone. Liam plays the '50 year old oxford street big shot' and Jay plays the ' 40 year old fat ass ' on the subway station. I am really proud of how fast i have learnt my monologue. i already know it but i like to still have it in my hands because i start to choke on the words as my character speaks quite fast and in an accent. Last lesson was very enjoyable as we decided to rehearse the first scene which i found very useful as we hadn't done it in a while and i had started to forget it. i am really looking forward to todays lessons and i can't wait until the day we perform these pieces which is in about 3 or so weeks.

Changing my scene

Over the winter break i have decided i want to change my scene. After trying to come up with a good scene for the idea i had about the guitarist i decided that i dont want this to be my scene as i had to come up with the idea in about 5 minutes so it was not very well thought out. Over the holidays i talked to my older brother and he helped me come up with a scene. After about 5 days we had finished the script/monologue. My monologue is about a bank employee from new jersey who live in london and hates his perents because of his first name 'Rich' he feels this is the cause of all thinga bad in his life and isnt afraid to express this. For my scene i talk about the day i had before i got onto thw train and how it was 'the day from hell' i really enjoy the speech and i am really looking forward to performing it. The only worry i have is that i may struggle learning it aa it is just over 2 pages long however i already know a fair amount of it so i am confident that i will able to learn the whole speech for the performance date.
