the inspiration for my scene

18th december

well todays lesson didn't go to plan… Connor said in lesson all of a sudden that he didn't like our idea, which is fair enough as it didn't go very well when we done it in front of class. we sat around for about half an hour talking about a new idea for our scene, i thought really hard and came up with an idea about us being two people who robbed a shop and stashed the money in the underground but Connor didn't like it, so we kept thinking then Jay asked us for an idea and Connor said that he wanted to do an scene on his own, which kinda sucks because all the ideas i just made were for two people so when he said he wanted to do one on his own it sorter screwed all my ideas up. so i thought for about 5 minutes about an idea and i came up with this idea where i am an aspiring musician whose father does not believe i his son has the talent to make it and is going to throw away his life by dropping out of school just before he graduates. When i got home i kept thinking about a good idea I thought about somehow using the song 'BULLET' by hollywood undead as inspiration and use it in my scene. i want to lay down on a mattress whilst the song plays and have someone and Amanda doing standard household things around me as if it was fast forwarding through my life. i want my character to be a bit troubled not be able to accomplish anything in life. then i will get up and grab my guitar bag and go to walk out the door but get stopped by who ever plays my dad and he is going to ask ' where do you think you are going' i then want to have an argument about how he should know and how I've told him time after time that on whatever day say tuesdays that i have band practice and how he never listens to me, then he is going to say something about how if i spent half the time i spend on a worthless dream on my school work i would be someone. i will then storm out and go to the underground where i get on the train and die in the bomb. this is a working idea at the moment and i will try to map it out over the holidays.

tuesday 17th december

todays lesson went really really well, me and connor sat down and started to map out what we wanted to happen in our scene. Because me and connor are doing a scene together i feel that we have an advantage and a disadvantage to the other people in the group, we have an advantage because we can talk to each other and have talks about what we think will work and what won't however we are at a disadvantage because we have to talk to each other about ideas and if either of us don't like it then we won't be able to use it. Today we mapped out all we want to happen in our scene and created a little script so that we know what can have some idea of what we want to be said in this scene and how we want it too. Me and connor play two mate who just got back from a 'lads holiday' my character is based on the character Jay from the inbetweeners as he is cocky, rude to his friends and he make things up about himself for example is say that ' my uncle who works in the underground says that they put transmitters in the railings so we can text down here' my character tends to lie like this to boost his social status, he mocks his friend at every chance he gets even though he isn't likely to be able to make new ones. my character is very arrogant and believes he can get any girl he wants and loves to say make fun of his best friend. i have not decided what i want my character to be called yet i will think about it and hopefully have a full name soon

first devising blog

this blog is for the past few lessons, we started devising a performance last week, we got given some lyrics to stimulate a performance, the idea we got from the lyrics was the word home, we started to spit ball ideas and came up with the idea of someone coming home and getting killed in a train bombing, we then decided to split the piece into different stories about the people on the train and how they got there, the character i have decided to play is a teenager properly around 17 who just got back from a holiday with his mate, i have not decided on a name for my character yet or any of his personal details. my character pushes his friend of the train which actually ends up saving his life. we have decided to use two songs so far for this piece we are using animal by by Martin gracix and Love is blindness by jack white. we use these songs for the first 2 scenes we have. in the first scene danny liam and jake come in and sit on a bench in a train station and chill there until the train arrives, jake and danny accidentally switch bags and danny ends up having jakes bag which actually has a bomb in it, when jake releases his bag is gone me amanda liam connor and jay walk around the stage in slow motion as if we were just people in a train station but danny and jake are still moving normal speed and jake is trying to find danny but because of all the other people on stage we block his view of danny and all end up on a train. we walk onto centre stage one at a time and set up a train like scene ( 3 chairs as the seat and 3 people standing holding railings like on a train ) me danny and liam sit down on the chair, jay and amanda stand holding the railings and connor leans on me. i sit on a seat texting with my hood up whilst jake moves around us looking for danny, he looks at a few people and misses danny, when he looks at me he pulls my hood of and i just stare at him as everyone is frozen apart from jake at this point. when jake moves away from danny, danny opens his bag and see's he has a bomb, at that point everyone turns to see it and we all react, i have decided i will try to run away as a natural instinct but stop because i realise we are on a train, jake then snatches the bag and lifts it in the air, when the lyric ' love is blindness ' plays he drops the bag and we start to move around the stage from side to side swapping with the person to the side of us.
